Hmm. Depends on what you're trying to do. Ubuntu is based off of debian. The thing about debian is they seem to put some of the components in odd places, more than other distros. Ubuntu does have the whole "everything boots into gnome, and easy to get the speech up and working" thing going for it. I'm not familiar with kubuntu. Not sure any of that helps you. What're you trying to do with your linux system?

I'd say honestly, go with Ubuntu since kubuntu isn't accessible, KDE isn't, for now, debian is fine, since it comes with brltty, if you have a braille display.

I'm right now, trying to find which of these would be the best os to run on the linux system.
Seems I'll go with ubuntu, from the way it sounds.
Thanks everyone.

Ubuntu is accessible but if you really want to get down and dirty with linux, ubuntu is very dumbed down. You can still use the terminal and console, but if you really want to learn, do a Debian base install (all command line) you can do this with a braille display as that is waht comes with debian, brltty. You can get a hold of me if you want to get more in depth info.

Ubuntu seems to be the one most people, including other developers I work with, recommend.

It also has a very good installer for users who are blind.

Red Hat Fedora also is highly recommended by folks who know these things.

not being a dihard lynux geek I tried the ubuntu live cd and the instructions for booting with speech worked well. It may not be as comples as other distributions but this might be the one that will appeal to those who just want it to work.
